Latest Buzz about Arianna

Time went fast and our baby is now a little over 10 months. She has one tooth (finally) and she can walk a little bit without support. The longest walk she had was 9-step. She watches the starter DVD of "our baby can read" everyday. Yesterday was her 15th day of watching that video. I was curious how effective this educational video is and so I evaluated her using visual material. Arianna was curious also about the visual aids that I'm showing her. I immediately questioned her without delay. I told her to give me the flash card with the word that I say. Surprisingly, she gave me the right flashcard. After 4 words without any mistake, I stopped and danced for joy! I hugged my husband and thanked him again for purchasing the "our baby can read" package.

Walk in Tub

I was enrolled in a caregiver training way back 2002. I planned to be a caregiver without thinking if I could do this job or not. I asked myself if I can assist a heavy old woman in bathing herself in the bathroom. Later did I I realize that I can’t handle it. I can’t carry such weight! I was only 95 pounds then. But now a days, old person could enjoy bathing without any assistance by the help of walk in tubs .It gives a disabled person the comfort and privacy of his home. With this advanced technology, the caregivers might not in demand anymore.

Bienne's Photography

Our little B asked me if she can barrow the red digicam and I said no problem. When she returned it to me, she was excited to show me the pictures that she took. I'm impressed because the subject she found was a very tiny flower and it looked like huge to me. She used natural light and zoomed too. We'll surely keep this digicam because it's good in flowers.

Here's another picture (below) that she took, and I don't know what it is.

Immunization Day

What a surprised! The pediatrician can’t speak Tagalog! How come (?) according to health directory that she can speak English, Spanish and Tagalog ( that‘s why we picked her). We thought that she’s a Filipina doctor but nope! She’s American. Is this her way so she can get more patients? This doctor is smart (but liar), she knew that there are so many Filipinos living in Temecula, CA and so she included in the directory that she‘s fluent in “Tagalog” . What a shame. She’s friendly though so no big deal nalang.

Today was the first immunization of Arianna and Bienne. Oh yes it took almost 4months before we finally got our appointment. Don’t ask me why ( it’s something to do with health insurance) . Arianna was just right in schedule and so she just had one shot. For Bienne, yay! she has to deal with 5 injections! But she was brave the whole time, the nurse gave her a certificate of bravery for that. If only we had a copy for her shots in St. Luke’s, she should skip these shots. She needs to complete her immunization for school’s requirement. She’ll start schooling on August 17.

Barcode Scanner

When we were in the Philippines, hubby and I used to go to grocery store and wait for our turn in the cashier. Imagine how long the line was each time we were in the store, very long. Your patience will always be tested. Hubby told me that there’s no such long line here in the US and if you are in a hurry, you can scan your items through barcode scanner. And if the item has no barcode, assistance will come to you immediately to process your order. Pretty cool! I've tried it myself.

Arianna @ 10 Months

Our baby is 10 months old today. The new things she learned aside from clapping and smiling are : touching her nose, open her mouth, arms up, waving hello or goodbye, standing without support, walking with support, watching attentively on her lesson on video, eating cheerios. Hehe! no teeth yet, she's a late bloomer. She loves to put anything in her mouth, there should be no object that is smaller than her mouth inside her super yard. She just loves to play but sometimes she likes to be held or else she would cry. When she's in the mood, she would laugh if you let her laugh. She's easy to please and always willing to learn new things.

DisneyLand Experience

Lesson learned : Be there in the resort as early as you can!

We arrived there around 8:30AM and the place was already packed (approx. 50k). The line for every ride was long at that time. Bienne and I wanted to see the Disney Princesses but unfortunately we had to line for 3hours before we can see them(we can't wait that long so we stepped out from the line). Good thing that the lines for Aladdin and Minnie Mouse were not that long so we got a chance to meet them. Funny, we entered the exit gate for Tinkerbelle and she said "goodbye" to me, she was so cute. Bienne saw her wings only.

Going there with a baby is not a good idea because for most parts, strollers are not allowed. Of course going into rides with the baby is not possible as well.

In general, we did enjoy our trip to Disneyland and we'll visit there again next year if we find a one-day babysitter around.

Hapifam to Disneyland

July 15, 2009 (Wednesday) that's tomorrow! Oh yes! We'll be spending our time in the resort. We are so excited! I should be sleeping by now but I can't sleep sa sobrang excitement. One of the reasons why we like US is (Disneyland) especially the "kids". Bienne was so happy when hubby announced that we'll go to Disneyland tomorrow. Yay! We’re only 1-hour drive-away from Disneyland and yet we didn't get a chance to visit Disneyland because of so many circumstances.

I have a story to tell and it starts with a question. When did I know about Disneyland? Well, long long time ago (20 years ago or so),I was watching TV (black and white TV) and it was in commercial (infomercial). I can't remember the product. There was a Fipino little boy saying " Sana bukas, may magandang bahay na tayo, at paglaki ko pupunta tayo ng America, papasyal tayo sa Disneyland". Since then, I was curious about Disneyland. I have seen a lot of pictures already but to be there for real is more exciting than pic. Sing it...it's my turn to visit Disneyland, next time ikaw na pud, then kitang tanan aron bibo.. na na na na na na na. . . . .

The Advantage of Web Directories

When you are looking for a specific phone numbers of the companies, you really need to look for a phone directory or call a phone directory assistance to help you get the phone numbers, without it you can't contact that company or person. So, it is important to include your company to be listed in the phone directory. Same is true when you have a business website. It is a must that your website will be listed in the business web directory. To name a few of most common web directories are yahoo directory and Business.com directory.

Let's say you own a business and your company has a website or shall I say you have an online business. The purpose of having a website is to gain more clients. Right? What else? Well, having a website would mean that your clients have an easy access to his account. He/she would know your new services through your website. Would you consider adding more customers or you are contented of the number of your customers right now? If your answer is to increase your customers then, work it out by looking for a SEO friendly web directory and add your website to their directory. And after that, you don't need to wait and see but you'll be surprise how fast people will start responding to your online business. That's the advantage of being a member of that directory.

Be aware that in choosing a web directory, it is a great idea to choose a directory that is very specific with their links, which means that the links should be related to one another. There are directories that includes mixed links that are not totally related to one another and what will happen is that, the searcher would click several links before he’ll get the right site that he’s looking for.

Our Baby Can Read

Opps! Not yet! But we will start teaching her how to read this week (our baby is almost 10-month old). I first saw the infomercial of "your baby can read" on TV and I was impressed that babies can read at very young age. This program called "multi-sensory reading approach" was discovered by Dr. Robert Titzer. His discovery is not new to the world. Yes, he shared his ideas to all parents worldwide. And his major respondents are Asians according to the parent's manual.

I told my hubby to check their website at yourbabycanread dot com and soon enough hubby ordered over the phone . Yesterday, the package has arrived. It is 30-day money back guarantee but I don't think that we will return it because I want to experience this thing with our baby through the help of my hubby.

Term Life Insurance

The hapifam is quite settled now here in California. There are few important things that we processed on our first month here such as finding a house to rent, medical insurance, and basic needs. If you think about it, the expenses are really tough. We have to be wise in spending money to live comfortably. One more thing that we want to look forward in the next few months is to purchase a cheap term life insurance rates. We can no longer afford to get an expensive life insurance. We hope that we will be qualified for a policy offered by that company.

Our First Vegetable

We already planted our first vegetable today in our side yard. It's a red bell pepper. What I like about bell pepper is that I can use both the leaves and the red pepper in my cooking. The leaves on tinolang manok and the red pepper on other recipes like bihon, chopsuey, kaldereta, etc.

Do you know that I never ate bell pepper until I was 19 years old? I thought bell pepper is only for decoration on the food, to put some color and makes the food attractive. It was not good for my taste when I first ate this veg. I was encouraged to eat bell pepper when I saw my friend (Rosilie) eating it (mixed with bihon). Yes, ate Rose hehe! Since then, bell pepper became one of my favorite vegetables.

Medical Assistant

Some of my friends asked me if I’ll work. I said I have no plan to work because of few reasons : I have a baby to take care of, and then when my baby turns 3, another new born baby on my hand. But if I have to work someday, I would like to enroll in medical assistant training school. Yes, I’m considering this kind of course because this is the most practical one. And job opportunities in this field is tremendous. Would you agree?

Family Planting

We can't wait for another week to start our vegetable garden. Today, we already did what is suppose to be done : prepared the garden plot and fixed the irrigation ( done by my hubby) , I planted the seeds on the seedling pots. Bienne helped me on seeding and so with Arianna. Baby just sat in her stroller the whole time, she didn't cry but instead she observed what we are doing.

The hapifamily are so excited about gardening and we have no idea what would be the outcome of our experiment. We hope that our vegetable garden will be successful because we love eating vegetables especially these veggies that we are gonna plant. They said that the vegetables planted in your own yard are more delicious than the commercial vegetables.

Our New TV stand

When we moved here in our house two months ago, we don't have enough furniture. We just anything that we could use in order to put appliances in there respective places. Just like our TV, we used a hard coffee table for our over size TV. But then, the super yard of baby Arianna is higher than the coffee table and so we changed our tv stand recently. We can now view the TV clearly without distraction.
