New Activities

The hapifam is having a family-affair every night and weekends. On weekends, we decided to go out regularly as family. Go to the mall (shopping and strolling) and play at home such as bowling, tennis and golf (Wii!) & board games too. At night time, we decided to read together. As of this moment, we are reading "Tuesday with Morrie". After we finish reading this book, we are gonna rent a DVD with the same title. This reading thing has been a regular activity of Bienne and hubby but now, I'm in!

When cold weather comes, we'll read in front of the fireplace. Pretty cool, isn't it? I have no idea how cold this place will be. Some said, it would get crazy cold that even Americans couldn't bare the coldness, how much more with my tropical body? Yikes! I'm not looking forward to that season. I couldn't even tolerate the coldness of spring , winter pa kaya?

Back to family-affair, Bienne is so good in bowling! Gosh, she consistently gets strike (4 in the row) and if not strike, she gets spare. She's naturally gifted in sports..yeah not only in music. And hey! The teacher asked the students this " Could anyone answer this question, other than Bienne?" Haha! Did you get my point? Bienne always volunteers to answer the questions. ( The more I talk good things about Bienne, the more she would do "better" than "good" in whatever she does).

Let's Play Ping Pong

My favorite sports when I was in high school and college are table tennis and volleyball. I was a player for these two games but only in our church activities. Until now, if I see a ping pong table, I couldn’t resist but to play. I just love this game and I wish the hapifam will get one someday . Oh before I forget, I was a coach of table tennis and my player got the first place. How’s that for a ping pong lover like me? Yes, achievement!

Arianna's Birthday

How was her first birthday? Well, we planned to have a birthday party together with the invited close friends, but unfortunately they were not available. All of them were not available, very frustrating …but deep inside me, I was fine. No visitors, no preparation, no stress, no expense , hehe! So practical.

On the day of her birthday : We had a family dinner at Hilton Hotel, La Jolla Torrey Pines San Diego courtesy of mother-in-law (MIL). After dinner, MIL and Bienne went home while Arianna, hubby and I stayed over night in the hotel (was that practical?) Hehe! Even without a party, her first birthday was still memorable. She blew her cake and opened her gifts the next day. I also cooked American Spaghetti (pampahaba ng buhay).

Accident Lawyer

Year 2004 when my cousin died by hit and run. There were two cars (drag racing) and one car hit my cousins, one cousin survived but my other cousin didn’t make it. He was dead on the spot. That was a shocking moment of my life because he was my best friend, I lost him all of a sudden. The relatives fought for his case but since the driver was belong to well-to-do family, the case was dismissed . How I wished New York accident lawyers would accept clients from Philippines so we’ll get a fair justice.

Sis' Baby Shower

My sister in Hawaii doesn’t have a blog anymore. She cancelled her domains and no more plan to blog. I just thought of talking about her (with consent) in my blog once in a while. I’m lucky I have a sister like her whom I can talk to whenever I need someone to share my life and happiness . On the other hand, she can call me over the phone when she needs my help or whenever she wants to share some news to me about our family circle good issues (hehehe)! True.

She’ll give birth next month to a baby girl named Nathalie. I couldn’t wait to see my niece. We’ve been waiting for her to come in this world for almost three years. Thank God, He granted our wishes and prayers. There are many members of the family, friends and relatives for her arrival. With that, few groups of friends was planning to give her a baby shower. One of them was the crew of Burger King located at Airforce Base in Honolulu, Hawaii. They hosted the party inside the store. Of course, my sister was totally surprised because she didn’t expect such grand party for her upcoming baby. They prepared a lot of foods and not so cheap gifts. By the way, the crew were mostly Filipinos--- what a kind hearted Filipinos. They love their boss (my sister’s hubby) that’s why they really gave their best for that said baby shower.

Bookit dot Com

We are booked to stay in the hotel for overnight. We’ll be staying in one of the well-known hotels in the world. Opps! Not in Miami beach hotels just yet. That’s gonna be in the near future. But yes, we’ll stay at Hilton Hotel in San Diego this coming Thursday. It is close to the hospital where my hubby will undergo a follow up check-up. He’s not allowed to drive after the test so we decided to stay in the hotel instead.

Physically Stress

How did I slip on the stairs?: I was holding Arianna’s digital monitor (musical) while walking down the stairs without holding the rail. I was talking to husband too and suddenly I slipped! I stepped on the edge of the stair and from there I hit my butt really hard on the stair for four steps! I thought I broke my hip or some bones because the impact was really hard. I almost passed out, so hard to breath and I almost vomited. My husband was shocked and he almost called 911. He was there beside me for moral support. My baby who was sleeping woke up and cried, she heard the noise the moment I slipped. And after few minutes, I felt better. I had a body stress since last night until this morning . I slept the whole night and morning. I got tired from that minor accident.

Fun Flossers

Bienne is only 7 years old and she already has a dream. She wants to be a dentist someday. Being a future dentist, she should be taking care of her teeth as early as now. Hubby and I always remind her how to care her teeth by brushing her teeth twice a day and also flossing every night. She’s not motivated to floss before because our floss is the usual color white or green (normal floss). Bienne likes the kids floss made by Dentek . It is so colorful and perfect on her hand , plus, it has a fluoride taste. Thank you Den Tek for sending us a pack of floss for free!

Burn Excess Fat

I’m glad that I don’t need to go to a gym to burn fat. Yes, I have a stored fats even though I’m thin. I noticed that after having my second baby, my fats are visible especially around my hip. It came to the point that I didn’t like wearing fitted tops because it’s so obvious that I have an extra belly. So, why I don’t need to go to the gym then? Well, it is because I acquired my favorite exercise machine which is a treadmill given to me by my father-in-law. All I need to do is to exercise regularly.

Ala Tempura

My new found recipe, not from recipe book but from pina-taka. A breaded shrimp ala tempura. Ingredients : cooked shrimp, eggs, all purpose flour, breadcrumbs, flavor mix, cooking oil. The steps : just the same with the chicken finger. Don’t know how to describe the instructions, hehe! Just use your imagination and you are good to go. I like to cook this kind of food when there is nothing to cook, in short when the fridge is empty.

Off topic : Nothing to write, no time , nothing to share. I’m busy watching Filipino shows online that’s why I have no time to update this blog. Maybe I’ll do the update once a week or when assignments are available.

Mount for TV

Watching TV is one of hapifam’s favorite things to do everyday. We love our 50” HD TV. It is very inviting to watch when the tv screen is so wide and clear, isn’t it? But here’s the problem, we only use a temporary stand for our TV which is not child-friendly. The sharp edges could cause damage to our baby that’s why we put some cushion on each corner. We are planning to hang the TV on the wall so, we are looking for TV mounts as soon as possible. A mount that is strong enough to hold the heavy plasma tv.
